| Dog Beach in Panama City Beach is AWESOME! January 9, 2010 06:30:30
OK, this isn't a fun article because it is about something that is really great, but something that is not in Destin. We receive 20 to 30 emails a week asking where the closest dog friendly beach is to Destin. FYI-City of Destin...These emails are from people who would rather spend their money in Destin, but have decided to find a place that is friendly to their loved ones...their dogs. We went to Panama City Beach to learn about their Dog Beach and were thrilled with what we found...
Although it was cold, there were still a few people on the beach with their dogs. The first people we ran into were a mother with her two daughters and a precious puppy they had just adopted. The family was having a wonderful time together building special memories that will last a lifetime.
The next couple were playing ball with two Golden Retrievers that were chasing the ball in the waves. As we were leaving, several more people started arriving at the beach with their dogs, so we were able to get a few more photos and you'll find them all posted on our blog.
We applaud Panama City Beach for responding to their citizens and for reserving a small spot on the beach for dogs. As a matter of fact, we are going to drive over tomorrow (Saturday January 8) and bring Mako to the Dog Beach. We'll probably work in a little shopping...We hope that the 'Powers that be' will give us a Dog Beach and are looking forward to our new Mayor, Sam Seevers. We hope a new administration will be more responsive and smarter than the last. Make no mistake...Being Dog Friendly is smart business!
